Outpouring is a painting born from release — from that sacred moment when something you’ve been carrying pours out in full. Created using the Dutch pour technique, this piece was made not with brushes, but by guiding paint with breath and movement — letting the flow take shape rather than forcing it. That process itself became a kind of worship. A surrender.
Waves of deep pink and white cascade across the canvas, broken by scattered drops of silver, grey, and ink-like tones — like prayers, like praise, like tears. At the top, earthy neutrals swirl like smoke or Spirit, grounding the emotion in quiet strength.
I painted Outpouring outside on the acreage in the Thousand Islands, with my daughter Autumn — just a few months old — asleep beside me. I was full to the brim in those days: in love, in awe, and overwhelmed in every direction. This piece poured out almost on its own, like breath that had been waiting to be released.
Part of the Living Waters collection, Outpouring is about what happens when we stop holding it in. It’s raw and holy — a reminder that some things are meant to spill over. That’s where healing begins.
