Rooted I–III is a soft, Spirit-led trio within the Living Waters collection, created as a commissioned set for my aunt. After seeing my work in progress on social media, she asked for two paintings — and later a third — to bring a sense of beauty, peace, and quiet movement into her guest room. These pieces were painted outdoors on our acreage in the Thousand Islands during the early days of new motherhood, while my daughter Autumn slept peacefully beside me. Each one carries the imprint of that sacred season — a time marked by stillness, awe, and deep love.
With their gentle palette of mossy greens, rose pinks, and warm neutrals, the Rooted pieces speak to what it means to grow slowly and intentionally — to be held in grace and shaped by it. The vertical flow of Rooted I and Rooted II creates a sense of upward movement, while the broader horizontal spread of Rooted III brings balance and breath to the series.
This collection reflects what I was learning in that quiet summer: that being rooted doesn’t mean staying still — it means being anchored while you grow.
Rooted II continues the visual language of its pair, with a slightly deeper bloom of green and a soft swirling upward pull. The colors — warm sage, petal pink, and soft blush — feel like something organic and still in motion, a reminder that being rooted doesn’t mean being still, but growing with intention.
This piece, like its twin, was painted outside in the quiet of summer, my daughter close by, and the Spirit close too. It’s a reflection of peace — not the absence of motion, but the presence of grace within it.
