Rooted I–III is a soft, Spirit-led trio within the Living Waters collection, created as a commissioned set for my aunt. After seeing my work in progress on social media, she asked for two paintings — and later a third — to bring a sense of beauty, peace, and quiet movement into her guest room. These pieces were painted outdoors on our acreage in the Thousand Islands during the early days of new motherhood, while my daughter Autumn slept peacefully beside me. Each one carries the imprint of that sacred season — a time marked by stillness, awe, and deep love.
With their gentle palette of mossy greens, rose pinks, and warm neutrals, the Rooted pieces speak to what it means to grow slowly and intentionally — to be held in grace and shaped by it. The vertical flow of Rooted I and Rooted II creates a sense of upward movement, while the broader horizontal spread of Rooted III brings balance and breath to the series.
This collection reflects what I was learning in that quiet summer: that being rooted doesn’t mean staying still — it means being anchored while you grow.
Rooted I reaches upward in soft, winding movement — like a vine gently unfurling toward light. Pinks and greens swirl through one another in soft layers, anchored by deeper shadows and subtle texture. The movement is vertical, but fluid — a quiet strength held in flow.
There’s something prayerful about this piece. It reminds me of how we grow when we’re still, when we rest in love, and when we’re held. Painted during a season of new motherhood, this piece reflects my own journey of learning to root myself again — in God, in the land, and in the unfolding beauty of everyday moments.
