Rooted I–III is a soft, Spirit-led trio within the Living Waters collection, created as a commissioned set for my aunt. After seeing my work in progress on social media, she asked for two paintings — and later a third — to bring a sense of beauty, peace, and quiet movement into her guest room. These pieces were painted outdoors on our acreage in the Thousand Islands during the early days of new motherhood, while my daughter Autumn slept peacefully beside me. Each one carries the imprint of that sacred season — a time marked by stillness, awe, and deep love.
With their gentle palette of mossy greens, rose pinks, and warm neutrals, the Rooted pieces speak to what it means to grow slowly and intentionally — to be held in grace and shaped by it. The vertical flow of Rooted I and Rooted II creates a sense of upward movement, while the broader horizontal spread of Rooted III brings balance and breath to the series.
This collection reflects what I was learning in that quiet summer: that being rooted doesn’t mean staying still — it means being anchored while you grow.
Rooted III was created as a final addition to the original pair, completing the Rooted series with a sense of fullness and flow. After seeing Rooted I and Rooted II in progress, my aunt asked for a third piece to bring everything together — something with the same softness and grace, but with a wider presence. Painted outdoors in the Thousand Islands while Autumn slept beside me, this piece carries the same spirit of quiet presence and grounded beauty that shaped the rest of the Living Waters collection.
Pinks, greens, and delicate neutrals swirl gently across the canvas in a wide, open composition. The movement here is more expansive — like the view opening up after walking through a narrow path, or like a bloom stretching fully into light. There’s a sense of arrival in this piece, but also peace. It’s where rootedness becomes rest.
Together with the other two, Rooted III brings balance and flow — a gentle reminder that grace grows layer by layer, and sometimes the fullness comes in threes.
