Learning to Trust the Process — in Art, Faith, and Life
This past week in the studio, I started four new underpaintings for my next collection. I’m planning to work on these pieces in tandem and, Lord willing, have them finished in time for the art show this October.
There’s something exciting about this stage — where the vision is taking shape but still full of possibility.
Here's what 3 of them look like so far:

But if I’m being honest, I’ve been wrestling a little bit with social media lately. Some days I feel aimless and scattered with what I post, wanting my page to reflect the heart behind my work but struggling to make it feel cohesive.
I want to share my art in a way that inspires, encourages, and reflects what God is doing in my life — but finding that balance isn’t always easy.
If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re not alone.
A Reminder I Needed
This week, while watching my favourite ASMR artist, she read a passage that stopped me in my tracks. It was from Isaiah 41:10:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
I just sat there for a moment, letting it sink in.
I forget sometimes that I don’t have to carry everything on my own — my art, my business, my family, my future. God promises to help us when we ask Him. He promises to never leave us, never forsake us, and to walk with us through every uncertain step.
And somehow, remembering that shifts everything. I can breathe a little easier. I can pick up my brushes and create without fear. I can take the next step forward, even if I don’t have the whole picture figured out yet.
Looking Ahead
As I dive deeper into these four new pieces, I’m praying they’ll carry that same reminder — that we’re never alone in the work we’re called to do. Whether it’s painting, parenting, or just making it through another day, there’s a steady hand guiding us when we slow down enough to notice.
And if you’ve been thinking about commissioning something meaningful, I’d love to create something special just for you or someone you love. You can take a peek at what’s available and learn more about commissions:
