There’s something sacred about trees. I’ve felt it since I was a child—this quiet pull toward their branches, their rhythms, their patience. As a mother, I see it even more clearly now. Trees don’t rush. They bloom when it’s time. They hold space. They reach upward and root deep all at once. I see God in them.
“Beneath the Bloom” began with that reverence. I had been thinking about cherry blossoms—the softness of them, the wonder. How they remind me to pause. I didn’t sketch or plan, I just started moving with the paint, letting the water and colour carry me. The blossoms came later, drifting in like a memory. Like a prayer.
This piece feels like walking through spring with your child’s hand in yours, saying nothing, just looking. It’s the surreal quiet of being caught in awe—when nature becomes a cathedral, and you feel, for a second, both very small and deeply known.
